Is a city with some very nice areas. One of the places to be in Bordeaux is the ‘Cité du Vin’ (The Wine City). 
This relatively new wine institution opened its doors in spring 2016. In this building you can find an incredible wine-shop (with wines from all over the world), a wine-boutique, a coffee shop, a brasserie, a big museum telling all about wine, a lot of tasting areas and last but not least the panoramic ‘Le 7 Restaurant’.
I learned in my profession not be impressed or be overwhelmed very quickly. But this place is amazing. You actually need several days to see everything.
Included in the museum ticket is one glass of wine you can taste on the top floor of the building. There you can choose one glass of wine from several different countries. We choose a wine from Mexico and one from Georgia.
Because of my work I had the opportunity to eat in a lot of restaurants. My wife and I choose to try the exclusive ‘Le 7 Restaurant’. People stay in line to get in. Unfortunately some people will be disappointed. To be brief about this establishment: the service is very good, the food is excellent and the wines are very nice. I would recommend it for sure.
But in the Bordeaux area there are a lot of good and famous wines ready to be discovered and to be tasted. And that is one of the reasons to go to this part of France. So next day my wife and I were invited at château Smith Haut Lafitte. But that’s another story.
